Craft with a Cause at the Kit~Together class!
CommentJoin me on Thursday, November 10, when you purchase any Stampin' Up! Kit, or Paper Pumpkin!
I am featuring the Nourish & Flourish kit so you can see it in action!! It’s so adorable! It would make a great gift for a teacher, friend, or anyone who loves to craft & know they contributed to a great cause. You can give it as is or with the cards completed.
Each month at our upcoming Kit~Togethers, I will focus on a new Kit from Stampin’ Up! Kit's Collection or Paper Pumpkin. The kits that Stampin' Up! have designed are great for gifts; you put them together (fun!) and give the finished set, or give them as a Craft Kit ready to assemble for the beginning or avid crafter! Check out all of the Kit’s Collection!
There is limited seating for the In-Person class. However, if you ZOOM with us, it will be like being there!
When you purchase a kit, I will send the zoom link on Tuesday before the Thursday class!
Also, mark your calendar for the December Kit~Together on December 15. The second Thursday of each month for 2023!

Hello, October! Hello, Harvest!
Vellum, Layering, Blends, Fall6 CommentsHappy October! If you are new to The WonderBasement, WELCOME!
I hope you are enjoying the gorgeous weather and the cool breeze that is blowing into the Midwest! Ahhh, it’s so refreshing. And the trees are beginning to change into the full glory of Autumn.
Here are the items I used to make this lovely autumn card for you, inspired by the season. I used a Basic Black card stock base and the Shimmery White Card Stock to stamp my images with Memento Black Ink.
The Autumn colors inspire my card creations. In the stamping world, these colors are so much fun to create with and share. I LOVE this pumpkin stamp & shape in the Hello Harvest bundle.
I paired it with some gorgeous specialty vellum, already sized in the perfect 3 3/4”x 5” size. It fits right over the 4”x 5 1/4” card front. Then I used the gorgeous Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper for the under-layer of the card.
Below I show photos of each step of coloring them with the Stampin’Blends™Alcohol-based markers. I LOVE using these markers. The alcohol nature of the ink allows the colors to blend through the paper seamlessly, creating gorgeous depth and interest! Click on each picture so you can really see how the colors blend together!
I placed the photos in the order I colored them, l-r, t-b. If you notice, I wasn’t super careful to stay in the lines, you don’t have to because the vellum covers the details. In this card, you just want to see the colors underneath. That’s why I started with Sweet Sorbet. It’s a lighter version of Poppy Parade and gives the whole project some pop. I also wanted to have some light-to-dark contrast on the leaves. The black needs a little brightness to make it the base color and not become too visually heavy.
After I have applied the colors that I want, I always use a light color Blend to blend the colors. They blend effortlessly. It’s almost like magic!
